![]() “Nearly everything that can convert from Enscape to V-Ray does so without user intervention. Updated 5 October 2022: We asked Chaos if there is anything in an Enscape scene that isn’t converted on import to V-Ray. or just the key ones.Ĭhaos pitches the change as making it easier to develop the initial look of a scene inside Enscape, then transfer it to V-Ray to take it to the “highest possible level of photorealism” The update adds support for “Enscape materials, 3D models and lights” in V-Ray – there isn’t a list in the release notes, so we aren’t sure if all Enscape materials and light types are supported. The biggest change in V-Ray 6 for SketchUp is interoperability with Enscape, the increasingly popular real-time architectural rendering software with whose developer Chaos merged earlier this year. The new version was released alongside that of V-Ray 6 for Rhino, which has similar new features.Ĭompatibility with Enscape reduces the need to rebuild scenes when moving between renderers Other new features include geometry replication system Enmesh, procedural clouds in V-Ray Sky, the option to pause and resume renderering, and support for the V-Ray Distance texture and ACEScg colour space. The update makes the SketchUp edition of the renderer compatible with real-time architectural visualisation tool Enscape, making it possible to render Enscape materials, models and lights in V-Ray. You can now use any textures for volumes. Up until recently you could only use static colors for absorption, scattering and emission in volumes. Octane also allows you to mix/layer vector/height displacement maps using the new displacement mixer node. This is a robust displacement system which doesn’t suffer the same limitations as the old displacement system (which is now known as Texture Displacement). You can now render procedural and OSL vertex displacement (either height or vector displacement) before rendering. Spectron™ software module utilizes Procedural Volumetric Lights allowing you to create procedurally driven volumetric lighting – like spot lights – with blockers, barn doors, gels and more. With Vectron you can create procedurally generated scenes entirely on the GPU without using GPU VRAM and with zero memory footprint. Vectron™ software module utilizes Vector-Polygon geometry to provide infinite procedurally generated scenes, volumes, and geometry which bypass meshes and volumes. With Random Walk SSS and Octane’s new Spectral Hair Material, you can easily create photorealistic digital characters. The Spectral Hair Material enables different coloring modes for hair, as well as multiple roughness parameters for different scattering behavior along a hair strand. ![]() Spectral Random Walk SSS and Hair MaterialĪ new Random Walk medium allows you to create ultra realistic skin and other absorption / scattering materials in Octane. With unique layered materials, Octane empowers you to recreate complex materials in a physically-based manner as opposed to manually mixing materials together. New nodes include: layered material, diffuse layer, specular layer, sheen layer, metallic layer, and layer group nodes. ![]() The new layered material system allows you to construct a complex material that consists of a base layer, with a maximum of 8 layers which can be inserted on top of the base layer. RTX acceleration speed gains increase in more complex scenes and can be benchmarked using RTX OctaneBench ®. Octane RTX hardware acceleration brings 2-5x render speed increases to NVIDIA raytracing GPUs with multi-GPU support. OTOY ® is proud to advance state of the art graphics technologies with groundbreaking machine learning optimizations, out-of-core geometry support, massive 10-100x speed gains in the scene graph, and RTX raytracing GPU hardware acceleration. OctaneRender ® is the world’s first and fastest unbiased, spectrally correct GPU render engine, delivering quality and speed unrivaled by any production renderer on the market. In this real-time capture, Octane 4’s AI Denoiser and AI Light system are working together to clean up the Italian room at just 50 samples, and the new scene graph, powered by Brigade, instantly moves high-poly objects on the city streets.
